A TCAE, or Auxiliary Care Nurse, is a health professional who has obtained an Intermediate VET Qualification in Auxiliary Nursing Care. This qualification prepares him/her to provide care to patients and to work in different areas of healthcare as part of nursing teams, both at community and specialised level. This role is what has traditionally been referred to as a Nursing Assistant, and is currently a profession in great demand in the labour market.

What do you want to study after this course?
An auxiliary care nurse can choose to study an advanced VET (Vocational Education and Training) course and, if they wish, continue their studies with a university degree or opt for the competitive examinations once they have completed their intermediate VET course.
It is not a question of studying just any advanced VET course, but of taking advantage of the knowledge we already have as assistants and giving it added value with an advanced VET course in the healthcare field:

Entry requirements
Access to Intermediate Vocational and Educational Training requires the fulfilment of at least one of the following conditions: a) Proof of possession of a Compulsory Secondary Education Certificate or a higher academic level. b) Proof of possession of a Basic Vocational Education and Training Certificate. c) Proof of possession of a n intermediate Vocational Education and Training Certificate. d) Having passed the specific training course for access to Intermediate Level Vocational and Education Training Courses in public or private centres authorised by the Education Administration. e) To have passed the entrance exam to Intermediate or Advanced Level Vocational and Education Training Courses, or the university entrance exam for the over 25s. f) To have passed the compulsory modules of an initial vocational qualification programme. g) To have passed the first two years of the Unificated and Multipurpose Baccalaureate (BUP), with a maximum, overall, of two subjects pending. h) To have passed the second year of the first experimental cycle of Reform of Secondary Education (REM). i) Proof of possession of any of the equivalent qualifications for access to intermediate level Vocational and Education training courses established in the third additional provision, section a) of Royal Decree 1147/2011, of 29 July. j) Certificate of recognition of foreign studies with any of the qualifications listed above. In the event that the homologation procedure has not been resolved, the Conditional Enrolment Form will be accepted.
